
Jaime Villacreses
Practice Areas
Jaime Villacreses is a member of the Lexvalor Abogados public law team providing counsel and representation in administrative, regulatory, and litigation proceedings in defense of national and international companies. His practice is focused on government control and determination of responsibility proceedings with the State Comptroller General’s Office, administrative penalty proceedings, and counsel and representation in public procurement disputes as well as in judicial reviews of public authority decisions.
He was for years an advisor to a judge in the Specialized Chamber of Administrative Disputes of the National Court of Justice, where he worked on lawsuits brought by and against State entities. He was also the highest authority at one of Quito’s most important control entities, enabling him to gain a command of administrative sanctioning procedures in a variety of matters. In private practice, Jaime has worked at important law firms as a member of teams counseling and representing clients in complex cases with the State.
He is currently a graduate school lecturer in Administrative Law at Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, Ecuador campus, as well as at Universidad Espíritu Santo and has taught classes at other universities in the country. He has taken an active part in administrative law events at universities throughout Latin America and in Spain and has given workshops to administrative dispute judges throughout the country at the invitation of the School of the Judiciary Branch (Escuela de la Función Judicial) and the Judiciary Council (Consejo de la Judicatura).
